The Bay Area Leadership Foundation's (BALF) mission is to provide talented, motivated youth who would normally fall between the cracks, with academic and life skills through mentorship, exposure, scholarships and financial support. These students will graduate to become productive members of their local communities and will in turn give back their time and resources to the next generation of BALF students.

Established in 2001, the Foundation serves students in Oakland, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Vallejo, and East San Jose.  BALF provides support services and financial assistance to enable underrepresented minority students from some of the Bay Area’s most depressed communities to have a meaningful college experience and graduate to become future community leaders.
