About Us

BALF serves low income students from five designated Bay Area high school districts (Vallejo; Pittsburg; Richmond; Oakland; and San Jose) whose grades fall below a level where other scholarship programs would be likely to reach them; and who have the motivation and potential to attend college with proper support. BALF programs provide academic support and enrichment activities as well as college scholarships to qualified students.
