Chevron
Founded in California more than 130 years ago, and based in San Ramon, Calif., Chevron is now the state’s largest company and is committed to community partnerships. At Chevron, partnership is a value that is honored every day. Their community involvement programs are important investments in the future of communities.
Chevron has a long history of community involvement in the Bay Area, where they’ve been committed to supporting the building blocks of California’s economy and competitiveness — science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, career and technical training, and support for small businesses. In 2010, Chevron invested over $21,000,000 in over 100 nonprofits to address Bay Area community needs.
Chevron’s non-profit partners in STEM Education in the Bay Area include Contra Costa County Office of Education, Project Lead The Way, DonorsChoose.org, Teach For America, and Techbridge. Through these partnerships, Chevron supports programs that help strengthen school systems and STEM curriculum, increase professional development opportunities for teachers, and provide extra resources in the classroom – all leading to college ready, career-bound young people.
