The mission of the Bay Area Leadership Foundation is to provide talented, motivated youth who would normally fall between the cracks, with academic and life skills support. The Bay Area Leadership Foundation achieves this through mentorship, academic and career exposure, and financial support. Students who participate in the Bay Area Leadership Foundation graduate to become productive members of their local communities, and in turn give back their time and resources to the next generation of BALF students.

Established in 2001, the Foundation serves students in Oakland, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Vallejo, and East San Jose.  BALF provides support services and financial assistance to enable underrepresented students from some of the Bay Area’s most depressed communities to have a meaningful college experience and graduate to become productive members of society and future community leaders.
